Star Wars - Episode2
The Attack of the Clones
So the much awaited Episode - The Attack of the Clones
has actually arrived and the Jedi knights all around the globe are gathering
outside cinemas to learn what it takes a Jedi to turn into evid Darth
Vader. " A Jedi knows neither hatred nor love" And as we learn
continuously more about the training and the ways the jedi council used
to safeguard peace for more than 1000 years in the democracy, we also
come to see that this is not exactly true of young Skywalker!
The fact that you are up to this review means that most
likely you have already seen the movie, so i find it quite useless to
say anthing about the plot, sou should know it by now. let me ust take
a look with the eye of the critic. The first hour of the film was maybeby
far the worst Star Wars we have ever seen, maybe nuch more awful than
we could have ever imagined a Lucas film might get. The story goes on
so slowly, and i really find no real reason for all these crap scenes
that remind me more of Bond or Stalone films. Hey men, what do you think
you are doing? Star Wars came to be our childish dream cos of light sabers
and the exceptional starcraft fights of Episode 4 and 6. We do not need
extravagant and not at all realsistic nor interesting scenes of young
Skywalker trying to keep himself on a vehicle moving on the air at a terrible
speed, just with one hand whereas the else he uses to catch the assassin...
And then comes the break at the cinema, and mysteriously
the film is transformed. Fastest rythmes, classic Star Wars scenes and
fights and maybe the best scenario one could have expected! The scenes
with Amidala an skywalker in the internal of the droid making system are
abslolutely stunning, the way Lucas chooses to introduce the idea of the
troopers the empire will be using in Episode 4-6 is exceptional and the
love story between Amidala an Slywalker, though originally seeming to
be out of the Star Wars thing, is not really that annoying at all.
Coming to a conclusion, Episode 2 is rather an average
fielm, consisting of an waful first part and a very good second one. Plot
is good, acting is goos, special effects are very very good , but the
overall impressionis somewhat spoilt by the sheer stupidity with which
Lucas looks at the first part.
Of course, i am now more expecting than ever to see number3
and the final Skywalker - Vader transformation. After all for some people-
myself included Star Wars is a legend, not to be spoilt by the sheer quality
or lack of quality of a single film! Till 2005....
May the Force be With you!
